Israeli prison forces on Wednesday evening stormed and ransacked cells of Palestinian prisoners in Eshel jail.
According to informed sources, forces from the Yamaz and Dror units stormed section 10 of the prison and broke into its rooms in order to look for cellphones.
Soon later, this section of the jail was closed on allegations of finding cellphones during the search campaign.
Since the beginning of the current year, the Israeli prison service has escalated its suppressive practices against the Palestinian detainees in its jails, especially in the Ofer and Negev prisons.
The Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails are denied phone communication with their families, which may force them to use smuggled cellphones to talk with their relatives.
