Dawn raids and arrests in West Bank and Jerusalem

Various areas of the West Bank and Jerusalem witnessed on Saturday night and at dawn Sunday raids and searches carried out by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) during which they arrested several Palestinians. 

In Occupied Jerusalem, al-Issawiya town witnessed clashes between Palestinian youths and the Israeli police which stormed the town.  The special units of the occupation army known as “Mistaravim” stormed the martyr Muhammad Ubaid neighborhood in al-Issawiya.

Confrontations erupted in the town, during which the occupation soldiers fired tear gas canisters. Tens of people suffered breathing difficulty, including children and women.

The Israeli police arrested three Jerusalemites al-Issawiya, including the child Tayseer Muheisen. and the two young men, Musa Haitham Mustafa, and Muhammad Bakr Mustafa.

In al-Khalil, Israeli settlers attacked a journalist living in the Tel Rumeida neighborhood and beat him.

Witnesses reported that several settlers of Ramat Yishai and Beit Hadassah, which were forcibly established on Palestinian citizens’ lands in the center of al-Khalil, beat the journalist of the Palestine Sports Channel, Muhannad Qafisha, 28, while he was in the area, which led to injuries in his head.

IOF arrested the journalist Qafishah after he was assaulted by settlers. He was released later on bail.

In Bethlehem, IOF arrested Mustafa Ammar Salhab, 18, Mahmoud Abdel-Ghani Salhab, 18, and Nour Qaraqi, 20, all of them are from the Karakfa area in the center of Bethlehem.

IOF arrested the released prisoner, Firas Ibrahim Bait Rashid and Saleh Abdul Harimi from Al-Saff street after they raided and searched their homes.

The IOF soldiers continue their daily search and arrest campaigns during which they raid homes, destroy property and terrorize residents especially women and children. These campaigns are usually followed by confrontations with Palestinian youths.

Recently, IOF has escalated arrests of released prisoners and students of the Islamic bloc in West Bank universities, in conjunction with the resumption of security coordination with the Palestinian Authority.

According to a periodic report issued by Hamas’s media office in West Bank, the occupation forces committed 2,050 violations against the Palestinians and their lands in the West Bank and Jerusalem during November.

The number of detainees reached 417, the number of incursions into various areas in West Bank and Jerusalem 341, the number of fixed and temporary checkpoints in different areas 500, and the number of raids on citizens’ homes reached 117, according to the report.

Jerusalem, al-Khalil and Ramallah areas are the most exposed provinces to Israeli violations, with (348, 276, 265) violations, respectively.
