Former head of Hamas’s political bureau Khaled Mishaal has appreciated Jordan’s supportive positions towards the Palestinian cause.
“Jordan has a special place in its relations with Palestine and it has a great legacy and sacrifices,” Mishaal said during an online symposium organized on Friday by the Muslim Brotherhood in Jordan under the theme “Return is a right and a will.”
“Jordan is well-known for its distinguished positions, which reject Israel’s annexation law and settlement expansion,” the Hamas official underlined.
Talking about the Palestinian Nakba, the Hamas official affirmed that the Nakba strengthened the Palestinian people in the face of the Israeli occupation.
“The makers of the Nakba wanted it to be the beginning of a Palestinian breakdown, but by the grace of God, we made it the beginning of the Palestinian rise. Some peoples break down when calamities afflict them, but the Palestinian Nakba has strengthened us and prompted us to confront the occupation in full force,” he said.
He also stressed the need for “tangible responses to confront the Zionist threat, away from expressions of condemnation.”
