Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya on Thursday evening talked over the phone to the Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas and other Arab officials to discuss the recent challenges resulting from the coronavirus crisis and wish them Ramadan Mubarak.
Haneyya and Abbas touched on the new steps being made by the Israeli government to implement the “Deal of the Century”, including the latest annexation project, and stressed that such conspiracies must be faced with true national unity.
They also discussed the coronavirus crisis and the measures followed at all levels to combat the outbreak and provide protection to the Palestinian people and treatment to those infected.
Haneyya also phoned Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit, wishing them Ramadan Mubarak and success in the battle against coronavirus.
Haneyya briefed Sheikh Tamim and Aboul Gheit on the recent developments in the Palestinian arena as a result of the coronavirus disease and the selection of the new Israeli cabinet.
Haneyya said that the Israeli government is taking advantage of the current crisis to advance the “Deal of the Century” plans but stressed that the Palestinians will fight by all means to thwart them.
He also thanked Sheikh Tamim and Qatar for their incessant support for the Palestinian people whether in the West Bank, Gaza Strip or the diaspora.
