11 Palestinians homeless as Israel demolishes 2 flats in Jerusalem

Israeli forces in occupied Jerusalem yesterday demolished two Palestinian apartments, making 11 Palestinians homeless, Quds Press reported.

The Israeli occupation municipality demolished the two Palestinian homes under the pretext of having no building licenses.

Palestinian Shadi Al-Muhtaseb told Quds Press that Israeli police stormed his and his father’s apartments, located in Jerusalem’s Beit Hanina neighbourhood, along with municipality staff and asked them to immediately leave their homes. The families were not given enough time to remove their belongings.

Al-Muhtaseb said that their apartments were built in 2010, noting that since then the family has been trying to get the needed licenses for occupation authorities. He said that they paid thousands of shekels as fines and fees ahead of getting the licenses, but at the end the apartments were demolished instead of being licensed.
