The UN General Assembly has adopted a resolution demanding Israel to leave the Syrian Golan Heights.
91 countries voted in favor of the resolution, 9 voted against, and 65 abstained.
The resolution calls on Israel to withdraw from all occupied Syrian territory in the Golan until the border set on 4 June 1967, in implementation of the UN Security Council resolution in this regard.
The UN General Assembly further described the legislation issued on 14 December 1981, through which Israel extended its law to the area of Golan Heights, as “null and void.”
The United Nations had previously demanded, by a majority vote, that Israel leave the Occupied Golan Heights.
